OMG - Middle class is too poor to afford entertainment

Hi,

My name is Kunaal and I am a middle class guy. I am from a small town, and I am sure that you don’t even give a shi* to my autobiography. Ok fine...... Let’s talk about you.
Tell me buddy, what’s your idea of a party? Going to a nice disc? Dancing and boozing until you drop down. Ok. How do u wake up? Well, I don’t know. We any ways never slept together (THANK GAWD - if you are a guy. OH SHIT..! - If you are a girl)

Well Vihul woke up with a hangover and a head splitting headache, and some dark circles around his eyes. (He is my room partner. But we sleep on different beds by the way.). Yes. He went to a disc yesterday. And so did I.

It was almost 9:30 pm when we started from home. (Until few years of my glorious childhood, this was the time by which I was supposed to come back home.) We reached a disc in Gurgaon by 10:30 (I will not type ‘PM’ every time) the bouncer (who looked like a newly manufactured robot from a local gym to me) told me that the cover charge was Rs. 1000, in which each one of us (6 friends) would get drinks worth Rs. 500 FREE…!

WOW… 6000 bucks. That could be my:
-         1 month house rent OR
-         2 fancy shirts and trousers of a good brand (definitely better than Koutons) OR
-         3 Months of liquor quota for Devdas (even if Chandramukhi and Paroo, both left him) OR
-         4 months electricity bill (with AC running all the time) OR
-         5 months of my telephone bill (where I can afford to call 2 girlfriends day and night) OR
-         6 months of my lunch  supply from local canteen (Lavish lunch)
-         1 year of my personal hygiene (includes shave, massage, eyebrow threading and haircut of all places)
-         2 years of………. So on……

Well, those 6000 bucks of my dear friend were gone just after 15 seconds of discussion. (Please feel the pain. Its month end now and a yet a couple of days left for the salary to be debited to our accounts)

So we finally went inside. I was hungry now. We all went and bought beer. Each pint was worth Rs. 350 and with remaining 150 bucks per head, we thought, wasting money on snacks was not a great idea. So we choose to eat nothing. (:-|)

Now, the spirits were getting high as we were high on a spirit diet. I was also enjoying by now except a few minor issues here and there running in my head:
-         The music was too loud. I could not hear any one talking
-         The light was too dim. I could read any body’s lips
-         The space was too small. It was getting suffocating
-         I had no food to eat…..

Well that’s ok so far. Now, I thought I would get some eye tonic for my eyes. There must be some really hot chicks around. Lemme take a look there. And all of a sudden this thought created a rush of testosterone in my body. The muscles in my neck started moving all round. Lot of nice girls were dancing on the DJ floor there, but I liked none of them (Coz’ they were already with other guys – and most of them with at least 2 guys). And then the door in front of me opened. I started imagining, that a girl of my dream would now walk in. She would be tall, and slim, and fair in complexion. Wow… What an imagination. But before I could think of all what she was wearing, the waiter entered from that door (Sounds shattering? Now read further). But behind him I saw 2 legs (two naked fat legs) of a tall and chubby girl, who was wearing a dress, which I am not sure, was deliberately small, or was it the right size, but she was not fitting into it. (And that’s not all) Right behind her, walked a slim girl, who was (again) wearing a tight dress. Honestly, her dress was so tight, that it compressed her assets so hard, that you would even doubt her faminety. Gosh..!! The females around (including the hot ones) were such a turn off.

Lot of things happened later. Prateek drove us back home, and we lost the way. Vihul peuked in the car. Abhishek shouted on the truck driver, imagining that the guy was his boss. I slept in the car, holding my beer bladder.

Now I was realizing that either I was being too much negative with the things around me, or I was too old to enjoy this stuff. Well, I am 27, single, a little better than any average looking guy, but I am from a middle class. I know you don’t even give a shi* to my autobiography, but trust me, I am proud of being what I am. My salary is not a disposable income. It’s a return on my monthly achievement of getting up early in the morning, going to the office and doing my duty well. I like to party with my family.

I like the same things which others do. I like good food, good music, good company and good sex. And if I was conservative about this, I would have not been writing a blog over this. What I dislike is a culture, where you would wanna smoke, coz it looks kool on you. You booze until you drop down, coz you like being high. I found no fun in getting ‘high’, but the “experience” of consuming the same beer was amazing, when I was sitting with my friends the next day, talking about all what happened in the disc.

Generation of the future has to be a little more responsible. What we are handling now is a very compact and a complex world. Cheers guys. Have a blast in 2011.

Imagine turning around everything that we have attached to these words - symbols of personal expression of doubt , fear and anxiety to interest..............So, for me, everything has two sides....turn the negative over and make a positive. Take a lemon and make a lemonade. New Year - New Vision...............
